Corrective Words

“The appeal of the bridal paradigm to the human heart is that it equips and establishes our hearts in a root system that gives us courage to hear hard corrective words.” (thanks, Dave Sliker)

I have found this to be true in my own life. When I believe that God is in love with me and is orchestrating everything He does for my good, I am more receptive to Him correcting me, and can even be grateful for it, because I see it as not coming from anger, but from zeal to purify my heart.

“For I bear Him witness that He has great zeal for you…” Col. 4:13
